Two Unsung Malefactors
WHO KNEW? The question that I
want ultimately answered is who knew… and who was ordered to fall in line
regarding the estimated $2.9 million
that LAG generated annually (according to B Kalinowski of the
Citizens Voice who backed the number out using unpaid state taxes)?
Leo Glodzik is now the largest “state tax” cheat by
far in our county’s history… but nobody knew? Hmmm…
Is Marie
McCormick, the City Manager/Administrator,
going to plead ignorant to all this… while getting paid a breath taking $90,000 per year? Who thinks she is
earning her keep? At $90,000 per year she better know what is going on. Or is
she paid simply to run interference for Leighton who now has not one – but two
spokespeople for a town of $42,000 (Prokop and McLaughlin).
You see… Ms. McCormick flies under the radar because
she looks like a mom on a 50’s sitcom. There is nothing innocent about gouging
taxpayers for $90,000 while LAG steals cars from people who can least afford
it.
Greg
Barrouk is another one. Nicest guy you can meet. But can he be head of economic development and have no knowledge of a seven year car theft ring under his nose? I think not.
The law needs to be applied evenly regardless
of how one looks or even if they appear "nice."
This post can be read by anyone… FBI… State Police… Grand Jurors. I hope
they are all taking good notes.
To
the Times Leader: Good for you in your Right-to-know
request regarding the 3% tax. Gee… ya think LAG paid it? Did LAG fill up at
DPW? In my opinion, WB is hiding the list because it is pretty obvious that those
on the “friends and family” list somehow found a loophole.

Dessoye - It's time... for real!
WBRE's Andy Mehalshik asked his friends on facebook to tune into the Discovery Channel Saturday evening for a show called Wicked Attraction. It told the story of the Zelenski family who had one of their sons murdered by a local drug dealer who had ties to Patterson, NJ. The show was scintillating.
But I couldn't help but draw parallels to current day Wilkes-Barre.
"All American mom:" The mom in the show who became addicted to heroin and who became involved with her dealer was the last one you'd suspect to be on drugs.
"All American cop:" Chief Dessoye is described as being a great cop at one time. Then a nose dive. The nose dive refers to any combination of booze, prescription narcotics, or heroin he now takes. His involvement with Catherine Meehan and the protection he gave her raises red flags everywhere. And guess what? She is still around town to "take orders." She is so dope sick she is barely recognizable.
The "Mines": Dessoye has no legitimate alibi for not shutting down Catherine Meehan's drug house when one considers he shut down a legitimate nightclub, The "Mines," using force you normally see with a military attack. See the July 14 post. He could have closed the drug house - but chose to protect it. And he chose to meet with Catherine Meehan privately. Red flags everywhere.

Wouldn't the safest, most prudent, most reasonable, and healthiest action be for Dessoye to take a drug screen (hair sample because it captures history)? Morale within the WBPD force is terrible from what I hear. All most police officers want is a leader they can trust who will promote based on merit and not the corruption they carry.
See this link for more details on Dessoye/Meehan: http://www.wbtruth.blogspot.com/2013/06/first-in-multi-part-series-questions_25.html
Word has it he locks himself in his office at the WBPD then goes home and drinks. These behaviors are not of a leader. Sadly, they are the behaviors of a low bottom drunk. I am sorry. But it needs to be said.
Years back somebody questioned my sobriety and I took a a drug screen within 2 hours! I wasn't about to let others soil the work I put into my sobriety. Two years ago I took a polygraph test so cops Harden, Cope, and Jones couldn't accuse me of lying. I was never questioned.
Dessoye can easily clear his name if clean. But he won't. He showed up at a council meeting recently (1st in 2 years) and he looked horrible. Completely disengaged. I felt pity for him and didn't address him.
A drug evaluation is actually the best solution. Be interviewed. It is a win/.win: He is either clean and sober or he is not. If not, he can get help. Dessoye must realize that he put the red flags up and no one else. He is not special just because he was "appointed chief" by his cousin Leighton.

"CRAB IN THE BUCKET SYNDROME"
Working against Dessoye getting help is Leighton. Envision a bucket of crabs. What happens when one tries to crawl out? The other crabs pull the "escapee" back in. So it is with addiction.
Over the past few weeks the following has circulated:
1) Magistrate Marty Kane, in his 60's, was seen "making out" at a bar that was anything but private.
2) Tom Leighton was too drunk to drive in from Harvey's Lake. So he stayed where he was (or was forced to). Does this sound like social drinking to you? A man in his 50's "crashing on the couch?"
3) On the Sue Henry show a gentleman said Leighton (married) was seen at the Gentleman's Club? What kind of wisdom is being shown here. None.
Sick people want to keep others sick. That's the problem. I hope this post is seen by whomever can break this drunken stalemate. Perhaps Dessoye's own family?

Can a Mayor hide $1 Million?
If your last name is Leighton you can.
The $1 Million that was funneled through a charity was in itself bizarre. Who would take money from a charity that feeds hungry children and redirect it so Wilkes-Barre can buy new fire trucks? This deal smelled from the start.
But nevertheless, the donor said (2nd paragraph of letter), “We realize you (Wilkes-Barre) will want to publicize the arrival of the fire trucks and the fact that a generous local donor provided the money. Please feel free to do so. However, please keep the donor identity confidential."
But nevertheless, the donor said (2nd paragraph of letter), “We realize you (Wilkes-Barre) will want to publicize the arrival of the fire trucks and the fact that a generous local donor provided the money. Please feel free to do so. However, please keep the donor identity confidential."
AN
HONEST MAYOR would do what the letter suggested and
publicize the fact that a donor gave the money.
AN
DISHONEST MAYOR wouldn’t tell anyone about the donor
and try and take the credit himself. This would obviously make him look
fiscally prudent as he had a secret million dollars to play with.

GAS GATE: Someone must pay
Citizens Voice Sunday Editorial: http://citizensvoice.com/news/someone-must-pay-for-gasgate-debacle-1.1523500
07/06/12 The district attorney (S Salavantis) on Thursday vowed to look into 18,000 gallons of missing gasoline intended for city vehicles.
07/06/12 "Honestly, I can't really - I don't know. I don't know why I didn't fill out the log," Leighton said. "I can't answer that question."
07/06/12 "Honestly, I can't really - I don't know. I don't know why I didn't fill out the log," Leighton said. "I can't answer that question."
Is 18,000 gallons a lot?
Consider you could circle the earth in a car 21 times.
(math nerds: 18,000 gallons times 30 mpg divided by 24,901 = 21.69)
07/06/12 "It was not hidden that I took gas," said Leighton, who defended his action because he filled up his vehicle in lieu of accepting a city-owned car. "Everyone knew I took gas."
07/06/12 Leighton said he and a few other city officials - he could not say how many others are involved or who they are - were authorized by the administration to fill up their private vehicles when used for city business. (Names please? Just city business?)
07/06/12 "Eighteen thousand gallons sounds like a lot - and believe me, I thought it was a lot - until I found out how big these gas tanks are," Leighton said.
You could go to the moon and back and still have gas left over.
(math nerds: 18,000 times 30 mpg divided by 238,900 = 2.26 ... one "up and back")
07/06/12 "That should not be the case, no matter how frivolous an officer may think it is," Salavantis said.
Recently a man was arrested for stealing a canister (2-3 gallons) of lawnmower gas from the back of a public works vehicle.
Sanity check # 1
3 gallons is less than 18,000 gallons (.00016).
The man who stole 3 gallons was arrested.
Why has no one been arrested for stealing 18,000?
Just wondering.
Sanity check # 2
Do Leighton’s wife, kids, and kids’ boyfriends/girlfriends count as city workers?
Just wondering.

Leighton's complete embrace of Glodzik
Word just in: Leighton was so drunk sat night he couldn't make it in from Harvey's Lake. Ctizens deserve better than chronically inebriated leighton and dessoye and Marty Kane.
Leo’s
headlines Glodzik's 100 or so headlines are available below.
But what is more disturbing is how LEIGHTON AND
DESSOYE embraced Glodzik, enabled Glodzik, favored Glodzik, covered for Glodzik, and conspired with Glodzik.
Glodzik fed off of these two. Never forget this.
They are all deserving of lengthy prison sentences.

Splitting of cash with cops
- Leighton’s phony investigation -
No records kept (Dessoye)
- $1/2 million taxes unpaid - A1 sales w/LAG on
consignment
- Towees not notified - Cars illegally rubber
stamped as abandoned

Kobby & Leighton
THUGGERY comes with a price… and taxpayers pick up the tab.
The following are confirmations of the reckless thug tactics used by Leighton to get his way. Recall...
1) Leighton (and the city) is highly likely going lose millions for Leighton’s “shock and awe” assault on a law abiding night club. See July 15 post for details.
2) He sued a female resident for using her 1st Amendment Rights to protest the closing of a fire station.
3) He illegally stripped “Kobby” of his contract because of “impoliteness”… and gave it over to a car thief, a price gouger, a briber, a perjuror, and a tax cheat ($500,000).
The bottom line is Leighton has influence only because he can fire city workers.
He inspires no one and has no true respect from anybody. He is the classic bully.

STORY: After losing deal, Kadluboski tries to lose cops. Leighton: Citizens griped of poor service.
By LANE FILLER lfiller@leader.net
Times Leader
(Front page)
Saturday, November 06, 2004 Page: 1A
(Start of article from 2004) WILKES-BARRE - Bob Kadluboski led police officers on a
merry chase through City Hall on
Friday, down one staircase and up another, down again and to the elevator. But
he couldn't outrun an arbitrator's decision. His business, City Wide Towing,
lost its longtime exclusive contract with the city, Mayor Tom Leighton announced at a press
conference Friday afternoon. (My comment: To give contract to LAG)
"I am here to announce today that the mutually agreed
upon arbiter has issued a decision in support of the city's request to
terminate the towing contract with City Wide Towing.'' After Leighton had finished
reading from prepared remarks, he opened the floor to questions. Kadluboski, wearing dark sunglasses and a baseball
cap emblazoned with ``FBI,'' and carrying a camera, started
with a question.
Leighton amended his own call for questions, saying ``Are
there any questions from the press?''
(My comment: Thug tactics of Leighton trying to
silence Kobby)
Kadluboski
continued to try to press Leighton about the towing contract, asking, ``Where's
my copy of the complaint?'' following Leighton into his office.
(My comment: Good question… doesn’t Kobby deserve a copy?)
When asked to leave, Kadluboski headed down one set of
stairs, then up another, followed by police. He ducked over to the elevator,
but when the police again followed him, he left. Later, Kadluboski said he had
no comment. His attorney, Barry Dyller, did not return phone calls. Thursday
night, police Capt. Tom Unvarsky escorted Kadluboski from city council chambers
after he got into a shouting match with council Chairwoman Kathy Kane. (My comment: You
get thrown out for a lot less… just voice your dissent!)
On Friday, Leighton declared there was no connection between that incident and
the cancellation of City Wide's contract. Kadluboski has held the exclusive
contract with the city since 1996, and was granted a five-year extension by
former Mayor Tom McGroarty in 2002. At the time, two other towing companies offered
to pay between $50,000 and $65,000 for the contract. Kadluboski has never paid
the city a fee for his contract.
(My comment: The way it should be… far too many
conflicts with a lump sum payment… just look at LAG)
On July 29, the
city sent Kadluboski a letter stating numerous customers had complained that he
was not courteous and would not supply itemized bills for his services. He was
given 45 days to improve the situation, but Leighton said in October that
complaints had continued to pour into his office. The city then sent a letter
to Kadluboski, saying the situation had been put in the hands of an arbitrator,
city purchasing director Ronald
Trimble. (My comment: You are kidding me, right?
Leighton is the boss of the arbitrator!! Gee… I wonder how that is going
to go!)
Friday, Leighton and Kadluboski were served with Trimble's decision. Asked if
the decision had anything to do with Kadluboski's outburst Thursday, Trimble
replied: ``There's no relation at all; my decision has nothing to do with what
went on last night.''
Kobby wasn't even present at the meeting!! Asked when he made his decision, Trimble answered: ``I'm not
going to speculate on when I made the decision; the decision was made and it doesn't matter how or when I made the
decision. I am the arbitrator for the City of Wilkes-Barre and City
Wide and that's the decision I reached.''
(My comment: What??? It doesn’t matter how or
when he made the decision? Gee… that is a professional and fair way for an
arbritrator to act)
RESULT: Kobby won $250,000 in a lawsuit
UPCOMING RESULT: Thom Greco is likely to win $ Millions in
his lawsuit (see my July 15 post).
Thuggery comes with a price… and taxpayers
pick up the tab
- Defense Attorneys
- Insurance rates that will go through the
roof
- Damages not picked up by Insurance
- The loss of public trust from corrupt leaders.
