RESPONSE TO TIMES LEADER'S "LOOK HOW GOOD WE ARE" EDITORIAL

Three years ago Bill O'Boyle and Terrie Morgan Besecker and Andrew Staub and Josh Moyer (Citizens Voice) were out in front and ahead of stories. Andrew Staub led the pack. He reported on the drug house on McClean street in WB. I can't recall if he said it was protected or if he provided a link between Dessoye and the "heroin honey" (a story confirmed by multiple officers). There is no longer ANY INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING. Zilch. There are approximately five FBI investigations / raids that took place as a result of citizen activists who couldn't stand corruption anymore. The Times Leader had nothing to do with any of them.

See editorial HERE    A healthy newspaper serves as a watch-dog for the people. In fact I consider it a moral responsibility of the press, In your editorial - YOU (the TL) CLAIM CREDIT for reporting on the 5 credit union indictments? How difficult is it to report on that? ... after it happened? YOU HAVE BECOME A "COPY/PASTE" NEWSPAPER. Where is the skill in that? You are not present in the beginning or the middle of criminal activity - you are only present at the end when the story presents itself on a silver platter. Where is the reporting that led up to it? There was none.

If not for citizen activists the "LAG CRIMINAL EMPIRE" would be steaming along absolutely devouring citizens in its path... the "PARKING AUTHORITY" would still be paying JJ Murphy and Fox Rothschild... there would be no GAS GATE...  would still be paying JJ Murphy and Fox Rothschild... there would be no GAS GATE... there would be no "LOANER CAR GATE" which presumably fed into "CREDIT UNION GATE" and the 5 indictments. There would be no knowledge that our acting WB police chief was "SELLING LAG CARS ON CONSIGNMENT" and that Leighton is presumably  giving some of his properties "FRAUDULENT APPRAISALS" then borrowing against these (recall Leighton is the sole appraiser for the credit union with its crony-filled board).

I PERSONALLY DON'T PUBLISH MY BLOG BECAUSE I WANT TO - BUT BECAUSE I HAVE TO - BECAUSE THE PAPERS HAVE DROPPED THE BALL ON INVESTIGATIONS. PLEASE DON'T TAKE CREDIT FOR SOMETHING YOU DON'T DESERVE.

Publishing a Leighton quote without checking its veracity is lazy and reckless (Example: MLK Day would cost the city a ridiculous $77,000). Allowing the Diamond City Partnership to publish its own "study" is allowing them to print their own press releases. It is insane. You have become as soft as marshmallows. Giving sports scores and traffic tie-ups are nothing compared to investigating and exposing corrupt activity. I ask that you put down your pom-poms and take to take a bold look at what your vision and mission is. I am not alone when I say that it appears you have lost your way.
