(Times-Tribune) WILKES-BARRE - The young grandmother of the 2-month-old boy beaten to death Sunday in Wilkes-Barre spent time in jail three years ago for beating another child in her care, court records show. Tamika Harley Johnson (32 year old grandmother)...

... who has applied for a public defender in the current case, pleaded guilty to simple assault and endangering the welfare of children in January 2010 after she severely injured a 2-year-old boy because he urinated on the floor. 

The boy killed Sunday, Antonio Evans, had "raccoon eyes," indicative of physical trauma, and severe bruising on his buttocks at the time of his death, according to a search warrant application filed in court this week.

Doctors at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital pronounced Antonio dead Sunday night despite "heroic efforts" to resuscitate him, according to a probable cause affidavit prepared in support of the warrant application. An autopsy Monday determined the boy's manner of death was a homicide, police said.

Killer of "DJ Mo" at large... Luzerne County DA clueless

If the DA office and its detectives were held by real world standards - they'd be fired... or they'd be bankrupt. 

But these ("I drink coffee therefore I am") detectives and the DA office are protected through elections and appointments. They get paid $100,000 per person whether they get results or not. Some also work their private practices which may in fact be ethical breaches.

Our DA, Stefanie Salavantis, takes orders rather the gives them. She calls herself an "administrator."

I have spoken to some of the families of the murdered victims I have illustrated in this blog. They are hurting. They live with a pain that few of is will ever have to feel. "DJ MO" is yet another murder victim whose case is unsolved.

Jonathon Ballester stabbed to death... another cold (closed) case from our DA

I knew Jonathon Ballester. I often went to the same church. Back Moutain Harvest Assembly. I spent a Memorial Day at the home he was murdered in.

DA Stefanie Salavantis knew him as well. Ballester, a staunch Republican, helped Salavantis get signatures for her DA run.

The murder of Ballester created a lot of chatter in the community as he was well known through his family business of Ballester Optical. I was told he was stabbed 60 times. Vicious.

The murder happened on Jackie Musto Carroll's watch and logically flowed into Salavantis' term. Then the case was closed. Why? How can such a violent death leave no evidence. It was stunning. Was someone paid off?

Our DA and her crack staff of detectives can't solve this murder either. 97 year old lady. But Salavantis is capable of removing a woman from a blighted home. Good for her. Priorities? Salvantis lied to get into office and is the "head coach." She needs to be fired. This is embarrassing. Her office is worse than a rendition of the Keystone Cops. But there is nothing funny to the family and friends of murdered victims.

In what has become "par for the course" for our DA... Stefanie Salavantis has let another case fall into the "rat hole." It has been 15 months since the presumed arson murder of Laurie Merritt. The word on the street is that the perpertrator is pretty obvious to the dullest of detectives.

Folks, Salavantis is paid $160,000 as the county's top law enforcement official. There are many more homicides that have not been resolved. Make no mistake - her incompetence deeply hurts the grieving families left behind.

From Citizens Voice on anniversary of probable homicide of Laurie Merritt. "Balloons were released into the cloudy sky and quickly scattered in all directions by swirling winds as the crowd watched in silence. A few quietly murmured justice.”

After the vigil, Kristin Merritt said she was happy with the turnout in honor of her mother, but added it did not provide her family with needed peace. “There won’t be any closure until we know who did this,” she said.

Once again, law enforcement is completely undisciplined with conflicts everywhere. This all falls on the DA Salavantis. 

She needs to be disciplining and not huggimg the Chief. She is a disgrace and needs to resign. Her negligence is causing immeasurable pain to family and friends of victims.

Stefanie... listen up... Here is a real tip from a guy named Mark Robbins (of LAG Towing fame).

Leighton has received kickbacks from Sherman Hills. George Brown knows this as well. I know that he knows. (Lightweight Cartwright put them on the Sherman Hills Task force.) Are you going you investigate that?

It is interesting to note that after Salavantis found no wrongdoing in the theft of $200,000 in gas... she then hired Leighton's spokesman (Drew McLaughlin). Nice move.

The job is too big for Salavantis. Her people pleasing has fed her corruption. Out DA office is a mess. She is star struck.

DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR HER. She makes $160,000 and lied to get into office. She is not remotely qualified. People have to do her job which means were are paying $160,000 for an administrator. We really have no idea who is calling the shots.

Johnnie Hodges, 90-Year-Old WWII Veteran, Evicted From His Home On A Stretcher.

NEW YORK: Johnnie Hodges failed to pay his loan because he amassed debts of up to $73,000 for the care of his wife, who had Alzheimer's disease.

After a nearly two-hour standoff, police took Hodges out of his Humboldt Parkway house on a stretcher so they could bring him to VA Western New York Health Care System to have his mental health assessed. The elderly veteran said nothing as he was carried into the ambulance, Buffalo News reported.

The crew from real estate company Extraordinary Properties began emptying his home and putting away his belongings in boxes after the ambulance left.

M&T Bank rented four storage units for Hodges' belongings. It paid the first two months of storage fees and said the rest of the cost will be shouldered by Hodges' family.

Hodges served on a troop transport ship in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans during World War II. He had been living on Social Security at the time of his eviction, according to Buffalo News.

Hodges was evicted two days before the anniversary of his wife Flora's death.

What I have noticed is Peter Paul Olszewski seems to have the magic touch. Consider:

Leighton amidst all the corruption stands untouched. His forner spokesman now works in the DA office. His alleged attorney? Olszewski. Loughnane runs over and kills Becca McCallick. Loughnane  remains untouched.

KIDS FOR CASH  Olszewski, former DA, (from book) gave Civiarella quick support for his get tough stance saying it would be a deterrent. "I think it is going to have an effect because word is spreading."

Olszewski then met with the corrupt gang in Florida where the yacht "Reel Justice" was docked. Does anybody believe that Olszewski was too dumb to figure out that there was corruption going on? Can a former DA be that clueless?

Sam Sangedolce (who is our effective DA; hired by Salavantis to do her job): He worked in Civiarella's court room where the incarcerartion rate was 10 times the state average and most kids had no representation. He wondered about it but did nothing. Nice leadership.

Sallie Musto Carroll was pilloried by Salavantis for her alleged role in Kids for Cash in TV ads. This is how Salavantis won. So what did Salavantis do? She offered Musto Carroll a job. I kid you not.

Meanwhile... Leo Glodzik who is supposed to be in jail is galavanting around town. Is this considered work release?

Family ands friends of Becca McCallick... don't stay silent!

You are paying the $160,000 salary of the woman whose "Daddy and company" paid hundreds of thousands for false ads that help her lie and get into office. Why has Becca been ignored?

Salavantis is cunning, dishonest, and woefully incompetent. She is cheating you by NEVER trying a case like all other DA's in the state. The honorable thing would be for her to resign. Call her and tell her you want her out:

Background: The drunken (Loughnane) that killed Becca McCalick has the same attorney that Leighton has (Peter Paul Olszewski). It seems that Peter Paul has cast a spell over our child DA.

How has Leighton been treated? Like her "bff" (best friend forvever... represents her maturity level).
A) They have met privately with Leighton while he was being investigated.
B) She let Leighton and the city off (not even malfeasance) for theft of gas worth almost $1/4 million.
C) Shen then hires Leighton's spokesman (Drew McLaughlin).
D) Here is the hug she gave Leighton's cousinn (WBPD Chief Dessoye during the gas gate investigation.

It is obvious that "little Miss Administrator" is star struck by being opposed by a (real) former DA Peter Paul Olszewski.

She is like the high school substitute teacher that everyone takes advantage of. She has no respect and no gravitas. She describes herself as an "administrator." The DA office is a pathetic patchwork of Asst DA's who also have private practices. It is held togetheher ny bandaids and scotch tape... with conflicts and corruption eveywhere. 

It is for this reason the homicides fall between the cracks, It is an outrage and make sure that Salavabtis NEVER sees another term. The child must go !!!
